Inside Sales Representative Represented by Nichols Kaster, PLLP Challenges Starkey's Failure to Pay Overtime Wages

    MINNEAPOLIS, MN, February 13, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Wednesday, February 8th, 2017, a former inside sales representative filed a Complaint in federal court in the District of Minnesota against Starkey Hearing Technologies and Starkey Laboratories, Inc. (collectively "Starkey"). The named plaintiff filed an overtime claim individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, which includes those who are or were employed by Starkey as inside salespersons at any time within the past three years. The Complaint was also filed as a class action under Minnesota law. The Complaint alleges that Starkey unlawfully denied overtime compensation to inside salespersons by improperly classifying them as exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and Minnesota law. The Complaint seeks unpaid overtime wages, double damages, and attorneys' fees and costs.
