Benergy, a Health App on Indiegogo

    BARCELONA, SPAIN, February 13, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Benergy is a mobile application designed to help the user build a healthier and more energetic routine based on 6 health pillars: food, exercise, sleep, bowels, mind and environment. It will be launched in English and Spanish in March 2017, by the Catalan startup PlayBenefit. It will be initially available for iOS and in May also for Android.

How does it work?

Benergy uses gamification, which means: game principles applied to health and wellbeing. The Benergy user will follow his/her own journey full of information as videos, audios and comics with challenges that must be overcome to achieve new challenges that lead him/her further. In addition Benergy takes into account the preferences and particular situations of each of us; the app will give you bits of specific information for particular moments in life, as preparation for a test or pregnancy. The users can monitor their general health status and thus see their daily progress, which will provide them with motivation and engagement.

Benergy, however, is not just a game but it is also designed to create real change in behavior with scientifically proven information. It is created by a team of professionals trained in various specialties such as nursing and nutrition, as well as by a creative team of designers. As you see, PlayBenefit has a motivated team but need more marketing resources to expand their way of looking at health and the way in which Benergy can help users.

The objective of the app is to reach American and European markets in the next 12 months. Benergy offers 10 steps available for free and many more that will be available with subscription. With this campaign of crowdfunding, the"early birds" will have a 50% off in the subscriptions, and can acquire adorable products of merchandising. Or even better: they can become a character from the app! Users can collaborate with values ranking from US $5 to US $1,000.00, and will share the campaign in all social networks.

PlayBenefit - the startup which connects health and gamification

The team behind Benergy and the crowdfunding campaign is PlayBenefit, a startup with two branches of business: creating apps/digital products and consultancy. Founded by Anna Sort in 2014 - a nurse and gamer - and Jordi Muñoz - experiential marketing specialist with extensive experience in the audiovisual sector.

Before Playbenefit, Anna, who is a nurse, but has always been interested in the world of videogames, had created an add-on for World of Warcraft players with diabetes, which caught the attention of the Stanford Medical School (USA).

She has also been chosen to be one of the 10 founders of Women in Health IT, a pioneering initiative in Europe: a community of women in the industry of digital health, created by HIMSS, the main organization of the sector in the world.
