NEW YORK, NY, February 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In the coming weeks, The Rev. Ken Howard, author, speaker, extrapreneurial faith leader and church futurist, will launch a program designed to help clergy and lay leaders guide their congregations in the aftermath of the divisive 2016 presidential election.
The program will kick off with a series of free 30-minute webinars, which will include free downloadable resources and follow-up telephone mini-consults. Afterward, congregations, dioceses, and other denominational groups who want to dig deeper can obtain coaching, consultation and training at a reasonable cost.
Webinars topics and content will be specifically tailored to advance input from potential participants. Each will focus on a single issue and will provide practical ideas with immediate take-home value. Further topics will be added based on participant suggestions.
Tentative topics include:
- How to Identify and Respond to Your Congregation's Needs for Post-Election Healing
- How to Make Prayer, Dialogue, and Action Work Together Rather Against Each Other
- How to Preach Prophetically without Pissing Off Your People
- How to Expand Mutual Understanding by Making Conflict Your Friend
- How to Help Your Congregation Engage the Subversive Teachings of Jesus
- How to Teach Justice without Provoking Partisanship
Topics are based on needs identified in an online prayer and dialogue experiment Ken conducted between the election and inauguration (click here for more info). To sign up for a webinar, simply email Ken which topics interest you, along with any questions you would like him to address in the webinar. You can also email Ken with ideas for future topics.
The founder of The FaithX Project, Ken Howard brings to this program more than 20 years' experience as a church-starter and the pastor of a politically and theological diverse congregation, and more than 30 years as a practitioner of conflict transformation in church, interfaith, and organizational settings.
