Gluu and Symas announce partnership at RSA Conference 2017, aligning two notable open source identity and access management software vendors.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, February 15, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today at RSA Conference 2017, Gluu, Inc. and Symas Corporation announced a business and technology partnership that will see inclusion of OpenLDAP in the Gluu Server Community Edition (CE) version 3.0 and onward. The partnership aligns two notable open source identity and access management software vendors and ensures inclusion of a free and open source LDAP component in the Gluu Server access management platform.
"The performance and manageability of the Gluu Server is driven to a large extent by the underlying LDAP directory service," said Gluu CEO Michael Schwartz. "OpenLDAP provides reliable performance, an open source license our community can trust, and Symas has a long history of providing excellent support to organizations with high-end requirements for persistence--something Gluu's enterprise customers are sure to appreciate."
Symas published a tailored version of OpenLDAP for the Gluu Server, called Symas OpenLDAP Gluu Edition, that includes features needed to meet Gluu's requirements for performance, scalability, and ease of management. Additional modules in OpenLDAP Gluu Edition include audit logging, replication, virtual list views, referential integrity and support for bcrypt password hashing.
"Gluu has demonstrated that a comprehensive, free and open source access management tool is needed by organizations around the world," said Symas CEO Matthew Hardin. "Our strategic partnership will help fuel adoption of OpenLDAP and strengthen the open source community around it."
Gluu will provide level one support to its customers using Symas OpenLDAP Gluu Edition in their Gluu Server deployments. Organizations with enterprise requirements for persistence are encouraged to also purchase support from Symas for access to 24x7x365 phone support, Active Directory and Kerberos authentication options, meta-directory capabilities, and more.
