PACIFIC GROVE, CA, March 11, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Schoolze, Inc., an ed-tech company dedicated to improving parental engagement and student achievement in schools, announces Brad Barbeau as an advisory board member.
Brad, who is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at the College of Business, CSU Monterey Bay and also serves as the Executive Director at the Institute for Innovation and Economic Development, brings a wealth of startup and entrepreneurship experience to Schoolze. During his earlier academic career, Brad was a Clinical Professor of Marketing at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and director of the school's Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) Laboratory.
"I'm really impressed with the way Avneesh's team has built the platform in last two years, keeping the core classroom product free and by monetizing a small feature on the side," says Brad. "This is what we teach in our classes; there are no shortcuts to building a good viable business. You have to listen to the feedback and build a value proposition until you find a way to sustain and grow the business. Schoolze's team comes out very good at it."
Schoolze originally started as a newsletter scheduling web application for a Pacific Grove preschool in 2015 and now has developed into a classroom productivity and parental engagement platform for schools and PTAs. A recently published story on the company & its founder can be found here.
"Bringing Brad on the advisory board is of strategic importance to us as we have just entered our growth phase," says founder & CEO Avneesh Kumar. "He has been there, done that many times and with his advice, we can make this phase a smooth ride. Right from our first meeting, Brad's advice has helped us a lot."
Schoolze is also running the beta of a school fundraising product which will be released in late March 2017.
