LOS ANGELES, CA, April 02, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The world's first world music orchestral album featuring the piano and santoor, an Indian hammered dulcimer, has been officially released on Kickstarter today (April 1st). The album, "Nature Of All Things" is created by Nikhil Koparkar, pianist and composer for films and games, and Kunal Gunjal, santoor artist and disciple of santoor pioneer Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. The musical team is raising $5,000 to record strings and orchestral elements, as well as mixing and mastering the album.
The strings will be recorded by renowned cellist Dave Eggar, who's previous work has been featured on music by Coldplay, Taylor Swift, and Paul Simon, and among many others.
The album will be mixed/mastered by John Rodd, who has worked on such shows as Breaking Bad, blockbuster films like Get Out and Elysium, and games like Star Wars Battlefront and World of Warcraft.
Nikhil and Kunal met through an impromptu jam, and decided to collaborate on an album, combining elements of both Western cinematic music and Indian classical.
"The result far exceeded our musical expectations," states Nikhil. "The sound is not quite Indian, and not quite Western, but something slightly different and fresh."
The team will be recording the strings at a studio in New York City in May, and mixing and mastering in time for a September release.
