JACKSONVILLE, FL, April 07, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Procrastination can be defined as the act or habit of putting off or delaying something that requires immediate attention.
CMA Global believe that procrastination is extremely common and that most people will put something off at some point in their lives. According to research conducted by the DePaul University's Professor of Psychology, Joseph Ferrari, 20 percent of U.S men and women are chronic procrastinators and have adopted this action as a way of life.

CMA Global was fascinated by these findings and conducted an investigation into the causes of procrastination. The firm found that within a competitive business environment, procrastination can stop a person from fulfilling their potential, which consequently causes significant damage to their success.
Procrastination within a workforce can be extremely detrimental to the overall success of business. Not only can it cause stress and frustration amongst coworkers who may be waiting on the completion of a task, but it can also result missed opportunities and damaged reputations.
Dr Ferrari believes that there are many factors that cause procrastination, such as preexisting personality challenges such as ADHD and even mental health. He also regards the prominence of technology in society as one of the key contributors to procrastination with the existence of smart phones, social media working together to aid procrastination.
Following their investigation, CMA Global have now reaffirmed their commitment to helping people overcome procrastination.
The firm plans to follow a range of tactics that they believe will help their contractors become more productive and build on their chances of success. These tactics include helping their workforce to pre-commit to individual goals or actions. They believe that when individuals pre-commit to an action, they are less likely to leave things to the last minute, therefore eliminating the likelihood of poor results, rushing tasks or missing important details.
CMA Global also believe that if you help an individual identify and understand the four pillars of pro-crastination - low task value, personality, expectations and goal failure, they will be more likely to identify the particular aspect that is holding them back and put plans in place to overcome it.
