RALEIGH, NC, May 06, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hooper-Thurston Elite Chiropractic Center, a leading Wilson NC chiropractic center focused on patient's overall health and wellness, has adopted the Graston Technique. The Graston Technique is an innovative, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables Hooper-Thurston Elite Chiroractors to detect and effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions, as well as maintain optimal range of motion. This non-invasive technique uses specially designed stainless steel instruments to help our chiropractors identify and treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis (scar tissue) or chronic inflammation.
Hooper-Thurston Elite Chiropractors have found the Graston Technique achieves faster and better outcomes for acute and chronic conditions such as
- Achilles Tendonitis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Adhesive Capsulitis
- IT Band Syndrome
- Fibromyalgia
- Lateral Epicondylosis/itis (Tennis Elbow)
- Lumbar Sprain/Strain (Back Pain)
- Medial Epicondylosis/itis (Golfer's Elbow)
- Patellofemoral Disorders (Knee Pain)
- Plantar Fasciitis (Foot Pain)
- Cervical Sprain/Strain (Neck Pain)
- Rotator Cuff Tendinosis/itis (Shoulder Pain)
- Scar Tissue
- Shin Splints
- Trigger Finger
- Women's Health (Post-Mastectomy and Caesarean Scarring)
The Graston Technique allows doctors to get as deep into the tissue as necessary to invoke change, yet be sensitive to your pain and tolerance. As the instruments are moved over the affected area and come in contact with the adhesions, they help break up scar tissue and fascial restrictions. In time, this process will reduce or eliminate the adhered fibers, restoring range of motion and eliminating the associated pain. It will help transform your soft tissue injury into healthy functioning tissue.
Scars are areas of fibrous tissue (fibrosis) that replace normal skin (and other tissues) after injury of the body. Thus, scarring is a natural part of the healing process. With the exception of very minor lesions, every wound (e.g., after accident, disease, or surgery) results in some degree of scarring. Scar tissue is composed of the same protein (collagen) as the tissue that it replaces, but the fiber composition of the protein is different. This collagen scar tissue alignment is usually of inferior functional quality to the normal collagen alignment.
"Treating a soft-tissue injury can, at times, be uncomfortable," says Dr. Mark Hooper, Chiropractor at Hooper-Thurston Elite Chiropractic Center. "However, the use of The Graston Technique instruments allows us to better administer the level of pressure applied. Even though soreness can occur during your treatment, our chiropractors have been specially trained to recognize treatment symptoms and adjust while the patient still receives the treatment benefits."
Graston Technique is accepted nationwide by elite athletes and everyday patients, as one of the most effective treatments for rehabilitation and range of motion maintenance, especially when combined with other treatment modalities such as exercise.
