23rd Annual Inland Empire World Trade Conference hosted at SBD International Airport

    SAN BERNARDINO, CA, May 12, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The California Inland Empire District Export Council (CIEDEC), in cooperation with the San Bernardino, US Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and California State University, San Bernardino, proudly present the 23rd Annual Inland Empire World Trade Conference as part of World Trade Week.

The Inland Empire World Trade Conference (IEWTC) is a forum for businesses in the region to discuss the ever-changing state of international commerce and its impact on the global economy. Featuring breakout sessions on international trade, cybersecurity, transportation and aerospace, this conference is an excellent opportunity for business leaders to address issues and brainstorm on solutions.

This year marks the first time the IEWTC has been hosted in San Bernardino in its 23 years. This was a strategic decision to highlight the vast resources of the region, including the airport itself. The County of Riverside and the County of San Bernardino have the logistical capacity offset cargo overload at larger ports and serve as a gateway for trade with Latin America and Asia with SBD International Airport serving as a vital option for the distribution of goods worldwide.

Keynote Speaker Announced
The 2017 keynote speaker will be Michael Taylor, Aerospace Systems Director, Global Supply Chain Program Management - Northrop Grumman. Mr. Taylor has over 25 years of management experience in the defense and aerospace industries focused on global supply chain and business management. He has extensive international business experience, having worked closely with suppliers across Europe and Asia.

Joining Mr. Taylor is Judy Rising Reinke, Acting Director General for the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service & Assistant Secretary of Global Markets, U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. In this role, Judy is the chief operating officer of the U.S. Government's premier export promotion agency managing its 100 domestic and 75+ overseas trade offices.

Experience a session on a Boeing 747
This year's conference includes a unique experience for conference attendees. Three of the sessions will be held on a Boeing 747.
