ST. PETERS, MO, May 17, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Church on the Rock is proud to welcome guest speaker Dave Roever to their services on Sun., May 28.
Roever, who is a decorated veteran and Christian, will be giving a hopeful and inspiring speech to the congregation that morning. Born and raised in southern Texas, Roever received his draft notice at the height of the Vietnam War. He served in the Navy as a riverboat gunner in the elite Brown Water Black Beret between 1968 and 1971.
Eight months into his tour, Roever became burned beyond recognition after a phosphorous grenade exploded in his hand. He was hospitalized for 14 months and underwent several surgeries. He was awarded the Purple Heart, along with numerous additional medals for his service.
Today, Roever is sought nationally and globally as a public speaker. Using humor and his gift of faith, Roever speaks in a variety of settings and is a frequent guest speaker on national television talk shows. He spreads a message of hope, courage, and faith, using his life as an example and addressing relevant issues including loneliness, peer pressure, pain, and triumph in the face of adversity.
Roever is also the founder, chairman, and president of two non-profit corporations: Roever Evangelistic Association (REA) and Roever Educational Assistance Programs (REAP), which are both based in Fort Worth, Texas. He has also established ongoing missions work in Vietnam.
"We are honored and excited to have Dave Roever join us during our May 28 services," said Pastor Blunt of Church on the Rock. "We pray that our congregation will be inspired and encouraged through his message."
