CHICAGO, IL, June 30, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- At Les Roches Chicago all students interested in hotel management may take a course in food and beverage operations and learn modern and classical luxurious service techniques. The program lasts 18 weeks and is designed to help future managers get applied, industry-relevant skills and improve their career prospects.
The course has two 9-week modules that comprise not only theoretical but also experiential learning with simulations, demonstrations, and practical activities.
The first module is aimed at helping students acquire guest service skills and consists of four disciplines. Students are supposed to gain the knowledge of food and beverage services and learn to work in diverse settings. Also they will learn about the service types and styles and ways to select appropriate service techniques, menu, staff and organizational structure. Besides, they will get immersed into the cleaning science and will discover more about health, waste management, safety, and food hygiene. One more discipline will be devoted to the basics of bar and beverage operations.
The second module will cover back-of-house operations. During this part, students will learn to prepare foods and will study the food production techniques. It also includes stewarding - this discipline is supposed to teach students select materials and equipment. Another part is devoted to pastry and bakery techniques and will cover pastry and bakery operations and assembling ingredients in accordance with recipes. Discipline four is aimed at teaching basic gastronomic concept theories and help future graduates gain the knowledge of culinary quality management.
During the program, the Les Roches Chicago students will also pay visits to main Chicago restaurants and outlets to learn how business operations are put into practice.
