CHICAGO, IL, June 29, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chicagoans love outdoor dining and Angelo's Wine Bar (3026 W. Montrose Ave, Chicago, IL 60618; 773-539-0111) is giving Albany Park residents what they want--a new fantastic outdoor patio to enjoy this summer.
Angelo's new patio, opened for the first time Wednesday, June 20, is the perfect place to enjoy a mouthwatering, alfresco meal. The 700-square foot outdoor patio is surrounded by sleek, elegant custom metal fences accessorized with rustic wooden flower planters. Overhead, string lights drape from the building to posts on the patio's perimeter, and outdoor speakers play soft music, making it the ideal summer hang out spot.
Guided by Executive Chef Julia Helton, Angelo's menu is organized into appetizers, pasta, pizza and Per La Tavola, small plates perfect for sharing with tablemates. Start off your night with menu favorite Burrata Mostarda ($14), a sweet take on a typically savory appetizer. Favorite entrees include the seasonal Spring Risotto ($16), featuring ramp pesto, morel, pea, pickled ramp and Pecorino Romano cheese, and Italian staple Cacio E Pepe ($11), spaghetti generously tossed with Pecorino Romano cheese, Parmigiano-Reggiano and olive oil. Pizza lovers will love the Wild Mushroom Pizza ($16) with four kinds of mushrooms, roasted garlic cream, goat cheese and mozzarella cheese. Small plates guaranteed to please--and prompt a second round--include P.E.I. Mussels in Brodo ($10) with crispy olive oil bread to soak up the leftover brodo, Roasted Skin on Salmon ($14) with fava bean succotash, Smoked Bone in Short Rib ($19) with caramelized Asian Pear next to garlic braised spinach, and Lamb Lollipops ($16) with mint chimichurri, rainbow marble potato, Aleppo peppers and arugula.
Enjoy the warm weather with loved ones, delicious food and of course, spectacular wines, curated by in-house wine expert Georges Bredeux. The wine list proudly boasts unique top shelf Old World, New World and Italian wines at affordable prices. Beat the heat with a bubbly. Bredeux's favorites include a champagne, Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve, and a sparkling wine, Ca'del Basco Cuvee Prestige. For those desiring a summer wine without the bubbles, try the Vie Vite rose. Standout whites include the Suavia Soave Classico, Davis Bynum Virginia's Block and Domaine Sigalas while favorite reds include the Quinta do Portal Colheita and Silvio Grasso Barolo. Wines are available by the glass and by the bottle.
Patio hours are 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Last dinner reservation is at 11 p.m. and last call for liquor is 11:30 p.m. Brunch hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
About Angelo's Wine Bar
A long-time neighborhood staple, Angelo's Wine Bar (3026 W. Montrose Ave, Chicago, IL 60618; 773-539-0111) was originally a simple Italian pizzeria founded by Jimmy Angelo in the 1960s. The business was sold to Manny Fakhoury in 1983 who turned it over to his brother in 1999 before his nephew, Ramez Fakhoury started helping in 2004. In 2015, Fakhoury completely reconfigured the take-out restaurant by purchasing the adjacent storefront to expand Angelo's and transforming the space into a sophisticated sit-down restaurant. The restaurant's facelift extended to its menu as well. In addition to its famous pizzas, the menu features Neapolitan style pasta, brunch, elegant shared plates, a robust wine selection, house-made vermouth and elegant cocktails. Additionally, live jazz is played in the restaurant Wednesday and Saturday nights.
In June 2017, Fakhoury added new outdoor patio, the first on the West Montrose side of the Chicago River's north branch.
