Royal Canadian Mint Releases Special Coins to Celebrate the 150th Canada Day

    TORONTO, ON, July 01, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Royal Canadian Mint has announced that it will be releasing a special set of 48 coins throughout the year to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday. The Mint's website, CANADA 150, says that the first of the coins will be made available for July 1st, Canada Day 2017.

A notable highlight of this set is the 2017 Enameled Special Edition Proof Pure Silver Dollar - Our Home and Native land coin. It's made of 99.99% pure silver, weighs 23.17 g and has a diameter of 36.07m. The coin was jointly designed by Jamie Desrochers (reverse) and Susanna Blunt (obverse).
