JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA, August 07, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This year, the great Nelson Mandela would have turned 99 years old, and to celebrate this very special occasion, Credico South Africa took part in a national tradition - every year on Mandela's birthday people across the country pay tribute to the kindness of Mandela by dedicating 67 minutes of their time to give back to the community. The significance of the 67 minutes comes from the 67 years Mandela fought for social justice in South Africa. Credico South Africa showed their respect to the legendary leader by visiting an orphanage and spending time with some truly inspirational children.

Credico South Africa spend the day at Dorah's Ark, an organisation that offers safety and support to children in need. During their day with Dorah's Ark, Credico South Africa spent time with the children, bringing them desperately needed food and groceries, gifts and taking part in a number of fun activities, including sports competitions, face painting, magic shows and a dance off. Credico South Africa was struck by the attitudes of the children they met and attributed this to the fantastic work that takes place day in, day out at Dorah's Ark. 'It was such a joy to give and just to spend time with the children, their smiles and unbreakable spirits are just priceless, and the work Dorah's Ark's staff is doing to help these young people live full and happy lives is wonderful. There are many worthy organisations in desperate need of help in a variety of forms in our community and it was amazing to have the opportunity to make a small difference. Leaving there we were truly humbled by the experience and positivity of the young people we met and we're committing to continue our support of this initiative.....' stated Theuns Bezuidenhout, General Manager for Credico South Africa.
Credico South Africa is honoured to have been allowed the opportunity to spend time with such inspirational children, and the selfless people working hard to give them brighter futures. After spending the day at Dorah's Ark, the agency is keen to become more involved with the vital work going on around the county to support those less fortunate. Theuns went on to say 'Mandela day is an opportunity for us all to open our eyes to what's happening around us and consider the ways we can all make a difference. This experience has definitely had an impact on all our staff and us as a company, and will have a significant influence on our company values and culture'.
