ST. LOUIS, MO, August 06, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After a 1st alarm fire gutted The Sweet Divine's building in historic Soulard last October, the bakery was excited to reopen their doors at 1801 S. 9th St., on Thurs., August 3.
The bakery had been serving customers in Soulard for four years when the fire broke out due to faulty wiring in the building's basement. During the renovation process, The Sweet Divine operated out of their food truck and used McArthur's Bakery Cafe's location in the Delmar Loop as a temporary kitchen.
Scott Rinaberger, owner of McArthur's Bakery Cafe, is proud of The Sweet Divine's accomplishments and is excited for the bakery's fresh beginning in their redesigned storefront.
"When we heard about the fire last October, we didn't hesitate to reach out to Jason and Jenna Siebert, owners of The Sweet Divine, to help them fulfill their orders and keep their business operating," Rinaberger said. "We truly admire their fighting spirit and are so happy to see them settle back into their own familiar space."
In celebration of The Sweet Divine's reopening, McArthur's Bakery Cafe is treating customers to free food.
"The St. Louis food community has a friendly competitiveness to it, but we never hesitate to help each other become successful and support one another," Rinaberger continued. "We really enjoyed our time with The Sweet Divine, and we want to encourage our customers to give their revamped location a visit. Bring in a receipt from their store, and we will treat you to a free sandwich of your choice from our kitchen."
McArthur's special deal will end Sun., August 20.
The Sweet Divine's renovated location seats 20 people and allows guests to sit at the bar area to watch bakers create a variety of pastries and sweets.
The Sweet Divine's team is incredibly grateful for everything that McArthur's Bakery Cafe has done for them and is thrilled to be returning home once more.
The Sweet Divine has also extended their hours and will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will be closed on Mondays.
