I recently re-discovered Dressel's and it's quickly become my new favorite spot! Heidi Glaus - KSDK Show Me St. Louis
ST. LOUIS, MO, August 07, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dressel's Public House, a welsh-inspired pub located in the Central West End of St. Louis, MO, is featured on KSDK's Show Me St. Louis. Dressel's showcased it's farm-to-table cuisine, craft beer and cocktail selection and its dedication to bringing the cultural arts to their customers' dining experiences.
KSDK's Heidi Glaus interviewed Benjamin Dressel, owner and operator of Dressel's Public House, and rediscovered the Central West End pub's charming decor, outstanding lunch, dinner, and brunch menus, and extensive craft beer, specialty cocktail, and wine list, calling it her "new favorite spot".
Jon and Barbara Dressel opened Dressel's Public House in 1980, and son, Benjamin, took it over in 2005. While Dressel's Public House maintains an old-world, Welsh setting, Benjamin added his own touch by introducing farm-to-table cuisine and paying special attention to the pub's craft beer selections.
Ms. Glaus emphasized Dressel's attention-grabbing dish, the Porchetta "Louie", for its rise to fame on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. "After roasting the pork in herbs and secret ingredients, It goes into a fry pan...sizzle, sizzle, sizzle...we add beer and pepperoncinis and a lot of cheese, and it all gets melted into a hot, gooey, yummy mess," says owner, Benjamin Dressel.
"The most popular things we do, I suppose, are the more pubby things," says Dressel, "our burger probably sells more than anything else on the menu." Ms. Glaus quotes photojournalist, Randy Schwenker, saying it's the best burger he's had.
Glaus also gives a shout out to the Truffled Grilled Cheese with Tomato Bisque, and the "massive" Dressel pretzel, which is essentially a "loaf of pretzel" served with rarebit, a classic Welsh cheese dip.
Glaus also mentions that dining here makes one feel "miles away from the Show Me state" as the Dressel family injects inspiration from their time living in Wales into the pub, even down to the tiled floor design, a reproduction of a dining room floor at the "King Arthur", a famous Welsh pub near Ben Dressel's favorite surf beach.
KSDK aired the interview with Dressel and tour of the Dressel's Public House on Show Me St. Louis on Friday, August 4, 2017, and its generating quite the buzz. The spot can be viewed at http://www.ksdk.com/ and Dressel's Public House menu can be seen here: http://dresselspublichouse.com/food-drink/.
"Dressel's is a cultural icon," says Ben Dressel, "and I am proud to carry it on."
