Green Oaks Senior Living Opens Doors

    CHICAGO, IL, August 28, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The first residents moved into Green Oaks Senior Living this week, ready to take advantage of affordable, amenity-rich living in a scenic, safe and well-cared-for community.

The 200,000-square-foot community is located at 14595 W. Rockland Road, on the newly transformed site of the former Jamaica Gardens Nursery. It is one of five senior living communities in the greater Chicago area managed by Spectrum Retirement Communities, ranked among the top 10 senior living owners and operators in the United States.

On the site's 15 acres, residents can choose from nearly 200 apartments, which vary in size from studios to two-bedroom, two-bath residences and cottages that surround one of the on-site lakes. The community offers the full spectrum of care, including Independent Living, Assisted Living and resident-directed Memory Care apartments. With a focus on offering independence and peace of mind, Green Oaks also features Spectrum's Residence Club, which allows residents with mild cognitive impairment to stay in an assisted living apartment and receive additional support from a dedicated Life Enrichment Specialist.

As a nod to the site's heritage, great care was taken to develop the community's open space. A number of gardens surround the community, and one of the site's two lakes offers a fishing pier built from bricks from the 80-year-old nursery building. As with all of Spectrum's communities, Green Oaks offers its residents top-flight amenities such as chef-prepared, on-demand dining; signature exercise and wellness programs; and staff-planned trips and events.
