NEW YORK, NY, September 14, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- April Francis, IT Senior Manager at Medtronic, has been selected to join the Industry Board at the American Health Council. She will be sharing her knowledge and expertise in the areas of Healthcare Education, Workforce Development, Business, and IT.
April Francis has worked in the healthcare industry for the past 13 years. Her career at Medtronic began as an engineer and, when the opportunity arose, she transitioned to IT. Ms. Francis has been IT Senior Manager at Medtronic since July of 2013. Her day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing ITIL systems and working directly with the IT staff.
Medtronic is a medical device company that focuses on improving and transforming the lives of millions. Its mission is to contribute to human welfare by application of biomedical engineering in the research, design, manufacture, and sale of instruments of application that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Initially started as a medical equipment repair shop in 1949, Medtronic has expanded to include medical technologies from implantable mechanical devices, surgical instruments, and biologic delivery devices.
Ms. Francis, who was awarded the 2015 ITIL Project of the Year award, attributes her success to being driven by and focused on providing positive outcomes while improving services. Over the next five years, she looks forward to continuing this work and also becoming more involved in operations. Ms. Francis takes great pride in knowing that her exceptional work environment has resulted in a balanced life.
Ms. Francis received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Valparaiso University in 2000. She is a member of itSMF, the premier association for IT Service Management professionals, and does charitable work for the non-profit organization Feed My Starving Children.
In her free time, Ms. Francis enjoys golfing, scrapbooking, and hunting.
