DENVER, CO, September 27, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For the fourth consecutive year, Spectrum Retirement is ranked among the largest owners and operators of senior housing communities in the United States. The rankings, released this month, are catalogued by the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) and reported in its ASHA 50 report, produced by Seniors Housing Business magazine.
Based in Denver, Spectrum Retirement develops, builds and manages senior living communities. Among the top community owners, Spectrum ranks No. 44; it owns 33 communities in 12 states, with a total of 4,184 apartments. The company operates an additional four properties, for a total 37 communities with more than 4,500 total apartments under management, placing it at No. 36 among the top 50 operators.
This year, Spectrum opened four new communities with approximately 800 apartment units. It has an additional 16 properties under construction.

ASHA 50 rankings are compiled from company holdings as of June 1, data from public filings and other sources. Rankings are based on total seniors housing units, which include independent living units, assisted living beds, memory care units and skilled nursing beds. They include both rent-based and entry-fee-based units designed and operated exclusively for seniors. Based in Washington, D.C., ASHA is a research and advocacy organization for the seniors housing industry.
