The new field kits are well suited for large-scale surveys, household demographic and health surveys, Sustainable Development Goal 6 safe water targets and smaller projects and programs.
CHAPEL HILL, NC, September 27, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Aquagenx, whose portable water quality testing products are used throughout the world, launched a collection of portable field kits for water quality testing in demanding field settings. The field kits are optimized for testing in low resource, rural areas so users can conduct real-time water quality sampling of multiple parameters on location without needing labs and electricity.
The new water testing field kits combine the ground breaking Aquagenx Compartment Bag Test (CBT) for E. coli bacteria with critical parameters including arsenic, fluoride, pH, turbidity, total dissolved solids/electrical conductivity, chlorine, nitrate, iron and flow rate.
Each of the five different field kits includes supplies for 100 water quality samples. The Basic Field Kit fits in a back pack that only weights nine pounds. Aquagenx field kits are light weight and easy to carry and transport in the field.
The portable field kits are well suited for large-scale surveys, household demographic and health surveys, Sustainable Development Goal 6 safe water targets and smaller projects and programs.
The Water Institute at University of North Carolina developed and validated the Aquagenx field kits. Their partners piloted the kits in hundreds of rural communities in Ghana, Ethiopia, and Burkina Faso, enabling household water quality testing in these contexts at a scale rarely achieved by previous monitoring activities.
