ST. LOUIS, MO, October 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stange Law Firm, PC is proud to announce that several members of the firm have helped found the Missouri Collaborative Institute.
The Missouri Collaborative Institute is a practice group of professionals who provide divorce and family law services to those in need in Missouri. The Missouri Collaborative Institute adheres to the tenants of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
Instead of parties going to court to litigate their divorce and family law matters, they instead try to resolve their case outside of court utilizing the collaborative team. The collaborative team consists of Missouri collaborative divorce attorneys, a divorce coach and a financial neutral.
Together, all these professionals work together to help the parties seek a resolution outside of court. If the parties can reach an agreement outside of court, the case is then submitted on an uncontested basis through settlement documents.
If, on the other hand, a settlement cannot be reached, the parties then hire separate legal counsel to litigate their case. But the hope is that this is not necessary.
Missouri collaborative divorce and family law in St. Louis and beyond is a good process because many parties want to settle their divorce, family law or child custody matter. However, when they get into the details, there are areas of disagreement that prevent settlement.
Typically, parties would then go to court to have the family court judge make a decision. But with collaborative practice, the goal is for the collaborative team to help facilitate a discussion, obtain the information and work together to forge agreements where previously the parties might not thought it possible.
This can help the parties into the future in terms of being able to co-parent and not have hard feelings after the conclusion of the case.
