"What Geoff has done not only meets a specific need for many industries, but is the type of business we like to support as there is real opportunity for long-term growth."
PETERBOROUGH, ON, October 19, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eight years ago, Geoff Crane was at a crossroads in his career. The economy was struggling and he had been laid off as a project manager for a large financial institution and wasn't sure where to turn. Eventually, he went back to school and found his way to Trent University where he discovered Adaptimist Insights.
With roots in Trent University's Emotional and Health Research Lab, Adaptimist was created and developed on statistical insights. Founder Geoff Crane, who worked in the lab as a graduate student, recognized that emotional intelligence training needed to go much deeper than was offered. As someone who experienced first-hand how stress in the workplace can lead to burnout, Geoff created Adaptimist with real challenges in mind and is focused on required skills, not just theories and academia.
"This is a culmination of years of research and a team of dedicated people. Ultimately, we wanted to develop a training program to help people deal with workplace stress in a way that didn't focus specifically on the skills of the job, but the interactions between co-workers. That's where our research shows most of the day-to-day stress comes from," said Geoff Crane, Founder and President of Adaptimist Insights.
Sandy Greenberg, Business Advisory Centre Lead for Peterborough and Kawarthas Economic Development has been following the project since its inception. "What Geoff has done not only meets a specific need for many industries, but is the type of business we like to support as there is real opportunity for long-term growth," she said.
