Long Island Author, Jeannie Moon, Joins Line-up for Witches Night Out--a Night of Events, Shopping, and Spirits

    COLD SPRINGS HARBOR, NY, October 27, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeannie Moon, the author of fifteen published novels, joins an impressive line-up of local talent during the 8th Annual Cold Spring Harbor Witches Night Out event taking place on Thursday, October 26, 2017. The public is invited to drop by The Gourmet Whaler, located at 111 Main Street, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. when Moon will be available to sign copies of "Then Came You," the first book in her new Compass Cove series, (released on September 26, 2017).

Numerous businesses on Main Street will participate in the event. Officially hosted by Grasso's and Lucky to Live Here Realty, Witches Night Out is a free event. Shoppers are welcome to wear a witches hat, costume, or just come as they are to enjoy a ladies night of events, shopping, and spirits. "The Gourmet Whaler is kicking into high gear for Witches Night Out. We'll offer tastings of some of Chef Emanuel Karropoulos's delicious creations as well as the bewitching pastries that I'm baking just for the occasion", states owner Denise Chin. "Brianna Cerrito of BRI's Bites will be here as well, along with two artisan jewelry makers, and authors JB Rafferty and Jeannie Moon--everyone's local."

Moon is no stranger to the area. "I'm a native. I know the island. I know the people, especially the towns that dot the north shore. Unlike many, I never entertained leaving. I work here, raised my kids here, and plan to stay. No one thinks Long Island has small towns, but it does. I grew up in one, and I wanted to share what's unique and wonderful in my new novel," says Moon. "This is the perfect event for people to come together and enjoy the place we live in, because not only does it bring people together, it also showcases and supports all the wonderful businesses. I'm so happy I get to be part of an event that celebrates everything this community has to offer."

In "Then Came You", Moon drew inspiration from her surroundings to create an authentic story that masterfully captures the nuances of Long Island's small towns, its people and their sentiments like few authors can. Moon has always been strongly tied to her community: born and raised in Huntington, she's currently a librarian in the Smithtown School District, president of Long Island Romance Writers, and alumnus of Long Island University-Post, and St. John's University (Queens).
