CHARLOTTE, NC, November 01, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Famous Toastery Belmont today announced a Charity Partnership with the local Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation (CRF). Donations collected during the restaurant's pre-opening will assist the group in their mission is to educate and advocate to protect the Catawba-Wateree River Basin's lakes, rivers, and streams for everyone who depends on and enjoys them.
"By supporting the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation we hope to contribute to an important environmental cause that affects all residents of Belmont and surrounding areas," said owner Jessica Cummis. "They work tirelessly to ensure clean, plentiful, and affordable water for future generations in the Catawba River Basin."
CRF relies on a network of trained volunteers to act as the eyes, ears, and voice of the Catawba River. Throughout the year, the Riverkeeper leads a six-hour Water Watcher training course in which participants learn how to identify, document, and report pollution. Some Water Watchers also act as Covekeepers - volunteers who patrol specific zones on the major lakes.
"CRF educates our community on water and how to protect it," explained Cummis. "Volunteering with the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation is a great way to do something good for the environment and the community."
The Famous Toastery of Belmont offers fresh-made breakfasts in a fun, casual atmosphere. Dining customers can always expect impeccable service because, "Every Server is Your Server." Open from 7am until 3pm daily.
