ST. LOUIS, MO, November 08, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dogtown Pizza, a local frozen pizza company, is proud to announce that they are now expanding their gourmet product line.
The expansion to the gourmet product line, which currently includes Dogtown Pizza's chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal white chocolate chip cookies, comes in the form of two mouth-watering entrees, mostacciolli with meatballs and lasagna.
Handmade and homemade on The Hill, these frozen entrees showcases local ingredients from both Dogtown Pizza and Digregorio Foods. The lasagna includes lasagna noodles layered with ricotta cheese, all smothered in meat sauce and topped with Dogtown Pizza's cheese. The mostacciolli and meatballs entre features penne noodles with marinara sauce and beef and pork meatballs topped with Dogtown Pizza's cheese. The family-sized entrees are also microwaveable and can feed four to six people.
Beginning Wed., November 15, patrons can find Dogtown Pizza's gourmet line in local Dierbergs stores, followed by smaller grocery stores in the Greater St. Louis region. The gourmet line will be available in local Schnucks and Shop 'n Save grocery stores in spring 2018.
"We are so proud to launch these new, high-end, locally-made meals just in time for the upcoming holiday season," said Rick Schaper, owner of Dogtown Pizza. "Our success has always stemmed from keeping things simple, but since our brand has become more popular, we decided to try something a little different with this new line of food."
In recent years, St. Louis and its restaurants have seen more and more collaborative efforts. Dogtown Pizza decided it was time to jump in and work hand-in-hand with Digregorio Foods on The Hill, who is creating these new entrees for Dogtown Pizza while using the frozen pizza company's credo of using local ingredients.
"Collaborating with another famous institution in St. Louis is a win-win for everyone, especially our customers and the community at large," Schaper said. "These handmade creations use local ingredients, contain no fillers or preservatives, and help keep money and jobs here in St. Louis while giving the people what they want - simple, real, and delicious food for everyone to enjoy."
Dogtown Pizza has been serving handmade frozen pizzas created with the highest quality of ingredients from local suppliers since 2006. Starting out in Schaper's kitchen, Dogtown Pizza has turned into a business that employs more than 20 people and has 11 different varieties of frozen pizza stocked in every major St. Louis grocery store, including Target. Their commitment to community, family, and local businesses has remained a top priority for the company as they have forged partnerships with some of the city's best businesses.
