MANALAPAN, NJ, November 09, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Two-time Super Bowl champion Leonard Marshall of the New York Giants is headlining a casino themed event on November 16th at the Bell Works mass-complex in Holmdel NJ, to inspire others to join his efforts in supporting the first and only Antibullying Center of its kind in the country designed to help sideline this ever growing epidemic that continues to plague our youth by promoting awareness, unity, intervention and an effective approach that reduces bullying and the negative impact it continues to have on our youth.
Marshall eagerly jumped on board to support BULLYING...We're Kickin' It a student led grassroots nonprofit that opened the Kickin' It Kids AntiBullying Center educating and supporting children preschool through college; with a core character building curriculum that teaches values, manners, etiquette and kindness; with the required component that teaches children to be accountable and responsible of how their own words and actions impact others.
The organizations founder, GinaMarie Raimondo, is a New Jersey Hero honored by MaryPat Christie and recognized by CBS News as 50 People to Know; for creating an effective method of educating children on how to positively express and resolve interpersonal problems through the practical application of the Golden Rule: "Do unto others..."
Statistics show bullying affects those who are directly and indirectly involved, leading many on a path of drug abuse, alcohol abuse, depression, anxiety, self-harm, violence, criminal activities or other negative outlets. To reduce the detrimental effects of bullying, education and support must be equally available to the bystanders, those participating and those on the receiving end.
"In order to make the effective changes our youth and society deserve, Kickin' It does not focus on one area of change/improvement; Kickin' It provides the systemic structures required to effectively combat bullying, with programs and resources constantly growing and evolving as rapidly as the school and social climate." ~states Raimondo
To help propel a charities message, celebrity endorsement is crucial to any nonprofit. "Events provide a special opportunity to rally the community together, with legends such as Leonard Marshall stepping up without hesitation is an honor and that privilege will allow Kickin' It to reach countless students and families. We are thankful for every one of our celebrity supporters" ~Raimondo
"You have to stand up to bullying, Kickin' It promotes that and helps kids to stand up for themselves and others" ~states spokesperson former heavyweight boxing champion Ray Mercer "I am proud and excited to be a part of Kickin' It and another high profile event that not only brings together a diverse group of individuals; it shines a light on so many children that suffer in darkness, allowing them to see there is a safe outlet for them to turn to." ~Mercer
"Being in martial arts for over 50 years I have come to realize that bullying has brought many children through the door which always brought a feeling of concern." ~Kickin' It Director Alan Goldberg "Kickin' It has faced this problem with a cutting edge approach that is effectively making an impact." ~Goldberg
"Bullying can ruin someone's life, we should all do our part to recognize it and put an end to it." ~states Erica Szymanski former Miss NJ Teen USA who has been a spokesperson for Kickin' It since her reign in 2010. "Kickin' It not only raises awareness but effectively provides solutions and support to schools, guardians and children." ~Szymanski
"As a parent, I am especially proud to have my children become Kickin' It Kids, where they are in a safe, positive environment that gives them the room to comfortably grow into their own unique selves, while making them aware that others too should be accepted for who they desire to be." ~Maryann Johnson a parent advocate
Since retiring Marshall has been active in several business and entrepreneurial activities. He also has spent time as a football camp instructor, a football head coach, a student, a professor, a radio broadcaster and actively uses his celebrity to benefit the lives of our youth.
The venue for the Leonard Marshall event is as groundbreaking as the nonprofit he is supporting; Bell Works in Holmdel is the former Bell Labs complex. The 2-million-square-foot building, that's the length of three football fields, which once housed Bell Labs, AT&T and Alcatel Lucent; today it is home to mega-companies such as iCIMS, WorkWave and many other companies leading the way in their fields.
