DENVER, CO, December 02, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Times are rough for the inner city youth who now more than ever are at greater risk for delinquency and crime. A knowledge of self can bring about self-confidence and determination where apathy and dysfunction once dwelled. It is our mission to help youth realize their potential by learning about their families pasts and using the knowledge they have learned to fuel them toward success and scholarship.
It is for this reason that we have launched an after-school program in the five points neighborhood to educate teens and youth on how to find out about their families past. This program will start on January 30th at the Blair Caldwell African American Research Library located at 2401 Welton St, Denver, CO, 80205.
This three-week program will teach youth basic genealogy skills so they can start their own family trees and research. Those who complete the program will be allowed to advance to other courses which include DNA testing, and more. This program is free of charge to the community, however, donations are accepted. We wish to thank the Denver Foundation Strengthening Neighborhood's program for their partnership.
This course is only the first of many. After the five points program is concluded we will be running a program at the Montbello Library, and then at the Aurora Library. I wish to thank the Libraries in question for providing affordable meeting spaces to the community without their help this would not be possible.
About the Genealogy Gangster Foundation
"The genealogy gangster foundation was formed to teach inner-city at-risk youth the art of genealogy research, with the hope that in doing so we will be able to help fuel their desires to succeed with a knowledge of self. We do this by hosting Genealogy courses in impoverished areas of the city free of charge thank's to our donors and friends.
