"Ten years ago it wasn't easy having a plant-based diet and going out to eat was next to impossible. Now there are vegan and vegetarian restaurants popping up everywhere! And not just on the East and West coasts...but in middle America too!" - Kamilah Lewis, CEO of KOI Media
According to a June 2017 report by research firm Global Data, 6 percent of the U.S. population now identifies as vegan, a 600 percent increase from 2014. Vegan is the number one health trend in the US, beating the likes of the paleo, 5:2 and gluten-free diet for the top spot. With the rise of vegan documentaries like What the Health and Cowspiracy; and trending celebrity spotlights on vegan lifestyles, many people are transitioning to plant-based diets, creating a rapidly growing market and demand for all things vegan. While most mainstream food magazines, blogs and network shows mildly cover vegan food content; Veggie Hunter seeks to add a healthy balance to the underrepresented vegan food scene and dispel misconceptions that the vegan food scene is bland and boring.
Veggie Hunter recently launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to cover additional production costs for Season 2. To donate to the crowd funding campaign, visit https://igg.me/at/veggiehunter. The last day to support the kickstarter campaign is January 12th, 2017.
