"I wanted my piece to mean something simple, motivational and universal...The idea came from thinking about what I think we need more of in the world," states artist Robin1000.
FORT WORTH, TX, January 03, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- According to artist Robin1000, one of the most rewarding parts of creating art is being able to make art a part of a community that is growing and encouraging. The connections made through life and art in particularly, are the most meaningful and rewarding aspect of being an artist. He, along with four other artists, is brightening up a developing community in North Fort Worth through art. Robin1000 has been chosen as a finalist for the Art on a Can contest, and will display his finished mural at the Graffiti and Street Festival in Fort Worth this upcoming March 2018.
The festival's proceeds will benefit SPCA of Texas, and is being hosted at Box Office Warehouse Suites, a business park made entirely from shipping containers. Talk about innovative. Robin1000 describes his experience in art as the usual story of always drawing as a child and continued drawing since then. His painting interest really sparked at the age of thirteen, and realized that you can make art for a living without having to be on the technical side of it, such as graphic designers and digital cartoonists.
Robin1000 initially heard about the Art on a Can contest that Box Office Warehouse Suites was hosting through an email list, and his proposed piece that landed him a spot in the final five was inspired by simplicity. In his own words, "I wanted my piece to mean something simple, motivational and universal. The most powerful messages are simple. The idea came from thinking about what I think we need more of in the world. When everyone is saying speak and be heard and show this or that and be on display, maybe we need to do the opposite. "Listen Up" is taking that simple message and applying it in a graphic art visual aesthetic."
To see more of Robin1000's work, make sure to stop by the Graffiti and Street Art Festival, a one-day art festival in Fort Worth. The festival proceeds will be donated to SPCA of Texas, and there will be gallery tours of the shipping containers, different forms of entertainment, free food, and prize giveaways throughout the day.
The event is anticipated to draw a large crowd of all age ranges, being a family-friendly event where pawed friends are also welcomed. It will be hosted by and held at Box Office Warehouse Suites on March 17, 2018, from 11 A.M. until 5 P.M.
Box Office Warehouse Suites is located in the heart of the Alliance Town Center business area, just north of Fort Worth, south of the Alliance Airport, off the Golden Triangle exit. The development will have 38-multi-use office-business suites and retail spaces, made from over 100 shipping containers, with rents starting as low as $875 per month.
