Seneca Village Montessori School Opens New Location In the Heart Of Brooklyn

    NEW YORK, NY, January 10, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- First school of its kind, Seneca Village Montessori School ("SVMS") utilizes the well known Montessori method, which encourages intrinsic learning through movement, activity, and creativity, guided by an African centered approach to teaching, providing Black children with an afrocentric curriculum which helps them build a strong sense of self, heritage, and culture.

The foundation of SVMS is quite unique and premised on the Nguzo Saba or the seven principles, (Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity), Imani (Faith).
