NEW YORK, NY, January 10, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christina Kopingon MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC, CNM has been appointed to the American Health Council's Board of Nurses. With eleven years in the healthcare industry, American Health Council is proud to recognize her exceptional professional work in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to this OB/GYN expertise, Kopingon brings several clinical certifications and an extensive educational background to her daily clinical practice. Currently, Kopingon is a Certified Nurse Midwife with OB Hospitalist Group and serves as Midwife Team Lead for the OB hospitalist program at Bethesda Hospital East in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Intent on giving the highest-quality patient care, Kopingon pursued various academic degrees and certifications in preparation for her career. In 2006 Kopingon graduated with a BSN from Florida Atlantic University and then earned an MSN with specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner from University of Miami in 2012. While there, Kopingon also pursued a Post-Master's program with specialization in Nurse Midwifery. Additionally, she obtained and maintains board certifications as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. Rigorously trained in her field, Kopingon is also trained as a surgical first assist and assists in both obstetrical and gynecologic surgical cases including Laparoscopy and Robotics.

A dedicated hospitalist, Kopingon's drive and hard work shaped her personal success. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, she provides 24-hour in hospital coverage for OBED, labor and delivery, and post-partum units, acts as first assist for Obstetric and Gynecologic surgeries, and is even involved with intrapartum and post-partum patient management. Discovering a talent for mentorship and education, she sought out additional learning and teaching opportunities and knowledgeable physician mentors who regard her as their colleague and peer. This peer support and personal dedication continually foster her skills in medicine and surgery. Kopingon's professional fulfillment stems from teaching others how to translate didactic knowledge into evidence based practice. She lectures medical and nursing students and provides education through daily mentorship on the labor and delivery floor as well as through simulated obstetrical skill simulation. In addition, she is very involved with current evidence-based hospital policy creation and modification. To employ and nurture these skills, she holds significant academic positions as an Affiliate Instructor of Clinical Biomedical Science in the Department of Integrated Medical Science at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton as well as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Palm Beach Atlantic University's School of Nursing in West Palm Beach.

Kopingon's commitment in the field precipitated in several professional awards such as the Nurse of the Year in Obstetrics Award in 2013 as well as the Doris Beaumont Ludwig Midwifery Scholarship and Eileen Wallace Memorial Scholarship. Determined to stay aware of medical advancements, Kopingon, maintains professional memberships with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM), American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), and the Nursing Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau International.

American Health Council proudly welcomes seasoned nurse Kopingon and acknowledges her unique insight, proficiency, and invaluable patient experience. In her professional future, Kopingon hopes to further effect change on the front line of clinical advancement. She envisions further teaching involvement while maintaining clinical practice.
