LAKE VILLA, IL, February 06, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jacksoneye announced on Monday that founder and medical director Dr. Mitchell Jackson has been recognized for the second year in a row by Ocular Surgery News. The Premier Surgeon 300 Innovators in Refractive Cataract Surgery list salutes eye surgeons who exhibit clinical excellence and innovation in the field.
"I am honored to be recognized for my capabilities in cataract surgery," Dr. Jackson said. "I believe my patients deserve the best, which is why I adopt the latest technology, such as the femtosecond laser to more efficiently remove cataracts, and customize each procedure to the patient's needs."
The timing of the Ocular Surgery News accolade is auspicious, as Dr. Jackson is on the cusp of performing his 27,000th cataract surgery procedure. He has also performed more than 30,000 LASIK vision correction surgeries since the procedure received FDA approval in 1995.
Dr. Jackson has trained other refractive surgeons on how to use the Moria microkeratome system for the LASIK procedure. He is also frequently involved in mid- to late-phase FDA clinical trials for a wide range of products and surgical techniques, from intraocular lenses used in cataract surgery to novel dry eye treatments.
Located in Lake Villa, Illinois, Jacksoneye continues Dr. Jackson's longstanding connection to the Chicagoland area. In addition to graduating medical school and completing his ophthalmology residency at postgraduate institutions in Chicago, Dr. Jackson is also a clinical assistant at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
The Premier Surgeon 300 list is designed to "evolv[e] the field of premium cataract surgery" by identifying eye surgeons who educate their peers, perform a high volume of procedures and/or pioneer groundbreaking techniques.
