ST. LOUIS, MO, February 16, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis has recently contributed a sum total of $2,193.93 to local non-profit organization Giving is a Family Tradition (GiFT).
The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis presented a check totaling $1,000 to GiFT through their Margs for a Mission program. This donation will directly help GiFT's various programs, which support families with critically-ill newborns at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
The remaining $1,193.93 was used to purchase Christmas gifts for a family whom The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis temporarily adopted during the holiday season last year.
The family, who lost nearly everything in a house fire on Christmas Day in 2016, was hand-selected by GiFT. The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis purchased, hand-wrapped, and donated a truckload of gifts and necessities to the family, plus toys and games for the children, presenting the gifts on Sat., December 23.
"This family in particular needed some extra love since the mother has two young boys and a new daughter, who was born six weeks early and spent two weeks in NICU," Jennifer Krassinger, founder of GiFT, said.
"I really enjoyed this partnership with GiFT, not only because I believe in their mission, but also because we got to know Krassinger," said Alex Rodriguez, owner of Hacienda Mexican Restaurant. "She is such a generous and giving person, especially since she started the organization as a personal family project every year, "adopting" an NICU family for Christmas. As a mother of two little ones, I am very touched by anyone who goes the extra mile to help children and babies and offer support to families and caregivers."
Both Krassinger and the adopted family are grateful for the contributions and care The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis has given.
"We are honored to have partnered with The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis," Krassinger. "Rodriguez and her team rallied to support a special family who had experienced a series of difficulties. The love and care shown to our GiFT family over the holidays was heartwarming and inspiring. They really demonstrate the care of the community by getting involved, recruiting others to be involved, and giving back. We cannot thank The Hacienda Foundation enough for all their support!"
