Animal Ashram was the place-to-be for New York Fashion Week.
NEW YORK, NY, February 19, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- One of the highlights of this year's New York Fashion Week was the eclectic Animal Ashram's Pop-Up Penthouse at the luxuruous Hotel on Rivington. The non-profit event, hosted by Actress and Animal Ashram's Founder Leesa Rowland, created a one-day haven for yoga, animals and fashionistas.
Guests enjoyed a fun filled day of animal adoptions, a vegan shopping bazaar, yoga & mediation, healthy snacks and a cocktail party benefiting Animal Ashram in support of the 7.6 million companion animals that enter animal shelters nationwide every year. At noon, Rowland hosted the Pelush Luxury Faux Fur Fashion Show by the popular designer Anna Tagliabue.
"We are raising funds and awareness for New York City animal shelters that desperately need our help," said Rowland. "More than 7 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Shockingly each year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized."
The Host Committee of this important charitable event include Catherine Petree, Hank Stampfl, Stephanie Mattera, Cris Longoria, Sara Diorzaio, Michelle Moody-Stratton. Animal Ashram's vision was brought to light by Hank Stampfl of Revel Rouge Events.
Yoga classes were taught by world renowned teachers Marie Belle of Raleigh of North Carolina, Michelle Moody-Stratton of Puerto Rico, Danielle Ribaudo of Arkansas, and local teacher Rebecca Rasmussen of Connecticut.
The event also spotlighted two incredible musical performances, the first from singer Tiffany Brevard, who sang "Take me Home." The second was from Trans-Siberian Orchestra performers Chloe Lowery accompanied by violinist Asha Mevlana. The performers hope to help Animal Ashram spread the word about compassion for all animals.
"This years over 56 billion farmed animals will be killed by humans," said Rowland. "This does not include the fish and other sea creatures whose deaths are so great they are only measured by tonnes. By supporting Animal Ashram's event you will be helping us protect beautiful animals all over the world.."
Animal Ashram was sponsored by DJ OMI, Clementine Bakery, Franchia Vegan Cafe, Jacques Brasserie, Cliffton Dry Sparkling Cider, and Eliya Organic King Coconut Water.
