This technology takes dental x-rays to a whole new level with the ability to view teeth, soft tissues, bone and nerve pathways with amazing clarity in a single scan.

Unlike regular CT scans that are used in hospitals, the CBCT emits an x-ray beam in the shape of a cone that rotates 360-degrees around a patient's head providing detailed 3D and 4D imaging of the neck, jaw, and face. The machine can capture 150-200 high-resolution 2D images from different angles then reconstruct and digitally combine them to create one 3D image. The entire scan can be completed in less than a minute.

Dr. William L. Thompson completed his undergraduate studies at Eastern Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He then went on to attend the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. After graduating, he completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program through U of D, and then entered the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at St. John Macomb.
