PLANO, TX, March 21, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin Hattery, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, unveiled a new outdoor Dream Court at the Boys & Girls Club at Allen Parkway. Dream Courts™, a collaboration between Nancy Lieberman Charities, WorldVentures Foundation™ and Sport Court®, are multipurpose courts where children in challenged communities can play sports and forge friendships. To date, there are 54 courts nationwide.
"We are so honored to have opened a Dream Court in Houston to serve the Allen Parkway Club, joining with our amazing local WorldVentures Foundation team of hardworking donors to make this dream a reality," said Gwyneth Lloyd, executive director of WorldVentures Foundation.
Representatives of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, Rodney McCray (former Houston Rocket) and Sport Court — the company that crafts and installs the play spaces — were a few of the dignitary's present at the unveiling.
"We so deeply care about our brothers and sisters and their children in the Houston community. We hope that this Dream Court is the start of many for kids to have a safe place to play as Houston rebuilds for their future," said Nancy Lieberman, founder of Nancy Lieberman Charities, basketball hall-of-famer, two-time Olympian, and former assistant coach of the Sacramento Kings.
Funding for the Dream Court project was raised from private sources in an effort spearheaded by WorldVentures™ Independent Representative Kim Martin from the Houston area.
