Jason Reid for Sheriff Announces Protect Our Future Plan

    CHARLOTTE, NC, April 05, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jason C. Reid announced his Protect Our Future plan for Catawba County in March 2018. PROTECT is an acronym for Proactive, Renovation, Opportunity, Therapy, Education, Collaboration, and Tradition. "It's safe to say I would not sit behind a desk and that I actually have a plan for this job if I'm blessed enough to win. The Protect Our Future plan is exactly what we need to address the drug dealers in our county. My best endorsement is when those drug dealers say they will move if I'm elected Sheriff."

Proactive
The Impact Team will investigate neighborhoods where sporadic criminal activity occur. They will connect separate investigations together to uncover larger criminal networks that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Renovation
The Danger Dozer will focus on properties known for violent crime and high drug activity. This program will work to condemn and physically eliminate these hazardous properties from our county.

Opportunity
The Child Support Project will allow a parent who is behind on payments to work while in jail so the debts can actually be paid in full. This creates a win-win solution for the parents and children.

Therapy
The Clean Exit Program aims to prevent relapse for addicts after spending time in our jail's addiction program. This will help transition addicts to organizations where they can have support to stay clean.

Education
The Package Interception Team will focus on interrupting new methods in which drugs are entering our neighborhoods. They will be instructing the community on how to identify locations where drugs could be imported.

Collaboration
The Prevention Pharm will team up with pharmacy employees working on how to identify and handle prescription opioid abuse by medical practitioners.

Tradition
The Sheriff Coy Reid Scholarship will be awarded to local high school students aiming at a career towards law enforcement. This will help fast-track the next generation of law enforcement with young talent.
