WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, April 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- ETMA, the Enterprise Technology Management Association, (formerly TEMIA, the Technology Expense Management Industry Association (https://etma.org) recently hosted its members at a conference in Nashville to address the theme of Managing in the Age of Disruption. One of the panels featured thought leaders who discussed opportunities arising from cloud and other changes to enterprise networks.
The revolution and massive changes with enterprise networks has the potential to disrupt the market in positive, negative and unexpected ways. Firms have already expanded their product portfolios into new growth areas to address enterprise needs. This includes a shift to manage expenses and sourcing for cloud and other enterprise technology needs. The panel included Rob Whitmore, Senior Vice President of Professional Services with Tangoe; Chris Lee, CEO of InvoiceIQ; and Jim Price, CEO of ICOMM.
Rob Whitmore SVP Tangoe of Professional Services with Tangoe said "As enterprises adopt new pricing and consumption paradigms for network and infrastructure expenses, it is critical to expand mature and proven expense management tools and best practices to address these rapidly emerging spend categories."
Chris Lee, CEO of Invoice IQ, and ETMA board member commented, "We are now in the cloud age – a period where IT technologies and business models will come and go rapidly – our industry must develop the agility and adaptability to address these new challenges to continue to deliver value to our customers or face disruption or worse."
Jim Price, CEO of ICOMM, said, "Some of the greatest value that the TEM industry has provided to enterprises is entirely applicable to the broader IT landscape. Spend management for cloud technologies has many of the same complexities of wireline and wireless telecom services. As cloud vendors use different billing platforms, models and tools to manage those technologies, a mature TEM platform and service model can help enterprises maintain control of their budgets and provide deep visibility and understanding of their use of these evolving technologies."
More than 48 companies attended the April conference. ETMA's conferences provide an opportunity for some of the best-known Solution Providers and emerging firms to network, develop industry standards, discuss best practices and raise the image of the industry through its Ethics Code.
ETMA is an independent non-profit that was established by Solutions providers for solutions providers. Through its executive board, solutions providers set its agenda and priorities. It seeks to engage members and build on its core values of idea exchange, peer learning, and helping to shape the market in positive ways through its conferences.
