SANTA BARBARA, CA, June 13, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cabana Home Interior Design and Home Furnishings Studio are pleased to host an artist reception for Robyn Geddes and honoring local volunteer aid organization, the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade. The reception will be held June 26, 2018 from 5-7pm at which the artist and the organization's founders will be on hand. A percentage of sales from all Robyn Geddes' work for the duration of the art installation will be donated to the Bucket Brigade in response to the January 9, 2018 debris flow that devastated much the community.
Fine artist Robyn Geddes, whose work is now on view at The Frameworks/Caruso-Woods Gallery in Santa Barbara, began his career as studio assistant to Andy Warhol from 1978 to 1983 and then a gallery director and artist in New York before moving to Santa Barbara in the late 1990s.
"I have known and worked with Steve and Caroline since they moved to Santa Barbara and admire their innovation. This show is about innovation. Innovation as building materials such as cement, sandpaper and house paint replace canvas, frames and artists paints.
Concrete walls and sites under construction always catch my attention," notes Geddes.
Spotlighted on Oprah Winfrey's Super Soul Sunday, the Bucket Brigade is a 100% volunteer-powered organization digging out over 80 homes, unearthing personal belongings and clearing mud and debris from beaches and public spaces. They have been featured in the NY Times, Dateline and NPR.
"We are so blessed to be a part of this caring community and hope to bring together the trifecta of Robyn's innovative art inspired by building materials with the tireless work of The Bucket Brigade who is rebuilding lives, in to our home - Cabana Home - with financial and emotional support," says co-founder Caroline Thompson.
