Our goal was to create a place for both Veterans and Retired Athletes to access resources and benefits in one place and to have a safe and private forum to share their experiences, says Shannon Jordan
CHICAGO, IL, June 14, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After The Impact Fund (ATIF) celebrates a successful first year facilitating custom treatment plans and resources for more than 120 Veterans and Professional Athletes with physical and mental health concerns along with traumatic injuries that include PTSD and TBI, while providing critical support to their families. Under the leadership of Board Members, Coach Mike Ditka, Brigadier General (US Army ret.) Rich Gross, Green Beret Art Pue, 15 year NFL Veteran Matt Birk and Coach Dan Reeves, the announcement of ATIF Men's Private Forum is a game changer, not only according to ATIF, but according to the individuals themselves.
The ATIF Men's Private Forum is a password protected, online forum for Veterans and Legends from the NFL, NHL, MLB, Jockeys, Rugby, Combat Sports and Extreme Sports overseen by ATIF's In House Staff Psychologist. To protect the integrity and privacy of each member, a short application is required before access is granted. Upon entry to the site, the member will find forum topics and listings including: general wellness and medical information, vetted medical partners and service providers, relevant articles and news stories, detailed benefits and resources offered specifically to each community. Members will also have "Shop Talk" allowing for discussion, support, and knowledge of additional community resources.
Jeff, a retired NFL player says, "ATIF Men's Private Forum is very relevant. The benefits page looked to be very thorough. Now that I'm single again, this page will definitely be a helpful resource. I haven't even heard about half of them."
Representing the military, Jack says, "One of the best things about the Forum is that the Veterans and Pros can share ideas and learn from each other, as ATIF has done a great job blending the two communities. Trying to find and understand military benefits is hard and this forum helps those who really need it."
"Our goal was to create a place for both Veterans and Retired Athletes, to not only find the resources and benefits they were entitled to in one place, but to have a safe and private forum to share their experiences and concerns," says Executive Director, Shannon Jordan. "Our members are often silent sufferers and we wanted to provide resources and support in a concise and easy-to-navigate format. We are so appreciative of the research being done regarding CTE and other traumatic brain conditions, including all areas of concern, but where we come in is in assisting our members while they are living to provide help and hope.
