MISSISSAUGA, ON, July 05, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Good Harbour Labs has received official accreditation from the Plumbing and Drainage Institute to perform Standard PDI-G101 tests for hydro mechanical grease interceptors. GHL is the only lab to earn this accreditation in the last few years and is the first and only lab in Canada to obtain PDI accreditation. Standard PDI-G101 was designed to provide a uniform measure of performance by grease interceptors and is widely recognized, referenced in most plumbing codes and included as the basic testing and rating requirement of Military Specification MIL-T-18361.
Grease Interceptor Testing
GHL has a PDI/ASME/CSA compliant test platform for testing grease interceptor performance and has been running these tests for over 10 years. This facility houses both a small and large sink so it can be used for testing interceptors rated from 4-100 gpm (0.24 to 6 L/s). Testing can be done with lard, in accordance with PDI-G101, ASME A112.14.13 and CSA B481.1 or with oil, in accordance with CSA B481.2. GHL also has the capability to test to EN standards. Clients rely on GHL's facilities and expertise for a full range of testing, from initial development testing all the way through to certification testing. GHL also conducts non-protocol tests for clients who want test results that can help guide product and marketing material development.
Independent Research and Testing Lab
GHL has been helping manufacturers test and fine-tune their equipment - and, once the equipment is ready, test it for compliance/accreditation - for the past 12 years by providing independent, expert and unbiased Environmental Technology Testing. Good Harbour Labs' 10,000 sq. ft full service research and testing lab, located in Mississauga, Ontario operates independent of any manufacturer and can be configured to accommodate almost any kind of equipment. It can provide flow rates from 1 gpm (0.1 L/s) up to 1,200 gpm (80 L/s), which is sufficient for testing many full scale industrial/commercial water treatment systems.
In-house Facilities and Expertise
The GHL facility also includes an on-site analytical lab that can rapidly analyze for several common water contaminants, and an on-site workshop and machine shop for making or modifying prototypes. Good Harbour Labs operates a Quality Management System and has been ISO 9001 accredited since 2015. All GHL staff are trained scientists or engineers with decades of experience in research, development and testing.
