MIAMI, FL, July 31, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Originally a pet project created by Andrew Swaine for documenting various public art in and around the greater Miami Dade County area, Art Around Miami is set to launch it's re-designed website this first week of August.
Art Around Miami was initially a blog that published commentary and personal opinion on the art and design scene in Miami and Miami Beach. The writing style of the publication was in a natural conversational critique, of not just art and design in Miami but also the growth of the various neighborhoods as they developed their own personality, in particular the Collins Park neighborhood in Miami Beach, Wynwood and the Design District.
The eventual goal for the re-designed website is to become a trusted independent guide to the Miami art scene. The site will showcase individual artists, the latest gallery openings and cultural exhibitions throughout the city. While there are many art and design related websites for Miami most are larger institutional or advertising driven publications that Swaine feels lack the personal touch that helps bring art to life and give it context.
Commenting on his city and his renewed interest in further developing his publication, Andrew Swaine said, "Miami continually re-invents itself, experiments with ideas and has grown at a breakneck speed the past two decades. Neighborhoods that were all too recently slums are now vibrant urban landscapes, filled with a non stop year round energy. I've been here most of my life, not quite a Miami native, and I think I can add a little personal color to the history of our city."
The website is currently live, full content migration from the old site to the new is expected to happen gradually within the coming week. In addition, Art Around Miami plans to develop a social media presence to inform and engage more actively with the local community.
