"Dress for Success Worldwide is an established leader in empowering women's independence worldwide and I am honored to support their efforts," Carlson said. "This is our time as women to make an impact and produce positive change for women in the workplace."
Kaylin, one of Folio's 2017 Top Women in Media, recently joined the board of directors of Dress for Success Worldwide. "I know that everyone attending the breakfast will come away from the event more motivated and confident to create success in their lives."
The breakfast will also feature an appearance from one of Dress for Success Worldwide's "Success Ambassadors," who will share her inspiring story of gaining the resources and support to obtain financial independence, thus ensuring a better future for herself and family. "We are fortunate to contribute to and witness real transformations in the lives of so many women," said Joi Gordon, Chief Executive Officer of Dress for Success. "We believe every woman has the right to realize her full potential. These heartening stories make us redouble our determination to make a difference."
The morning's full schedule reflects the fact that, while popularly identified with providing women with professional attire, Dress for Success Worldwide offers a comprehensive suite of programs, from interview and resume support to career development and leadership programs. These programs meet women's needs at every stage of the employment cycle.
The presentation of the "Global Impact Video" will spotlight Dress for Success Worldwide's work with over 1,000,000 women in 30 countries. The organization will also award the "Pursuit Beyond the Suit" scholarship. Sponsored by AXA, a leading financial services firm, this annual program awards scholarships to Dress for Success clients across the nation who have secured and maintained employment and are enrolled in degree programs to advance their careers. In 2018, five women were selected as recipients.
"We have an ever-expanding network of referral agencies, volunteers and sponsors who are making a big impact on women's lives," Gordon concluded. "This event honors those who are paving the way forward. By supporting each other, we can reach a greater number of women and make our vision of economic independence for all women a reality."
