A: It's an honour to be chosen for the award, this being 3 years in a row. It's especially rewarding to know the process that determines the winners, so it's not just getting your family and friends to vote 100 times a day, it's based on reputation and quality of our services.
Q: What is it About Your Company You Feel Sets You Apart From Your Competitors?
A: I believe we have some great people at our organization, with our trainers being sort of the face of the company. They are some of the best trainers in the industry and they work hard to consistently upgrade their knowledge and skills.
We're also very flexible and agile, being able to develop customized training for our client specific needs and delivering the programs at off regular hours to fit in their busy schedules.
Q: How Will Winning This Award Affect the Work You Do Moving Forward?
A: The award only reiterates that our clients are happy with the safety training and consulting services we provide. It won't stop us from continuing to work hard and provide the best service possible at all times.
Q: What is the Biggest Risk You Have Ever Taken in Business?
A: We recently invested in our future by moving to a new location about 3 years ago in order to serve clients better, in a comfortable environment.
We've just recently gone through a rebrand, adding a new website, logo, signage and materials that make it easier for our clients, and potential clients, to find us and also find any information on our new website.
Q: Businesswise, What is Your Next Big Step?
A: We are planning some bigger things moving forward. We are one of the only Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) Approved training providers in Hamilton and the Niagara region for the Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification program. As such we are looking at expanding that area of our business to add additional classes and possible additional locations in the near future.
This gives our clients more flexibility when they require the certification training for their staff.
GETTING TO KNOW RON RICHARDSON:
My Business Motto is... Just as in life, 'treat others the way you'd like to be treated' with respect and dignity no matter what.
We've had clients where English is their second language and added time had to be spent with them in order to have them comprehend the material.
Other clients have had some learning disabilities that required special treatment. The best part of all is the replies I get back thanking us for taking the time to teach these individuals and the respect we've shown them all.

What I Like the Most About My Job... Being able to simplify Workplace Occupational Health & Safety training for my clients. The OH&S Act has over 800 pages and 1000's of sections which makes it like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Our clients and even those that are not our current clients are free to call or email us with any questions or concerns they may have and we make sure they receive a prompt reply, saving them time, money and a lot of aggravation along the way.
If I Could Own One Word in the Mind of My Consumers, it Would be... Trust - I think we have developed substantial relationships with our clients for over 23 years, and that can't be done unless they have trust in every aspect of our business, which includes not only our services but also in all our people.
Daily I Always Try to... Learn something new. Whether it's about sales and marketing, about one of our clients, or the ever-changing world of health & safety in the workplace. I never want to stop learning.
As they say, if you're not learning and growing, you're dying.
