Dress for Success Worldwide's Women Who Inspire Breakfast raised over $115,000 for programming that supports women in attaining financial independence.
NEW YORK, NY, October 09, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dress for Success Worldwide (www.DressForSuccess.org) today announced that its 12th annual Women Who Inspire Breakfast, held September 20, was a tremendous success, raising over $115,000 for programming that supports women in attaining financial independence. "It was incredibly empowering to be in a roomful of women who care passionately about women and women's lives," said Joi Gordon, Chief Executive Officer of Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence.
The highlight of the breakfast was a fireside chat between headliner Gretchen Carlson, journalist, advocate, and author of Be Fierce, and moderator Lucy Kaylin, editor-in-chief of O, The Oprah Magazine. "For anyone wishing to be inspired, look no further than Gretchen Carlson," said Kaylin. "It was an honor to interview her—and be a witness to the life-changing work Dress For Success Worldwide is doing."
"Gretchen Carlson and Lucy Kaylin had a revealing conversation, filled with wisdom and insight," said Gordon. "I was so grateful that our breakfast guests had the opportunity to benefit from their experiences in overcoming career and life challenges."
Anita D'Costa, one of Dress for Success Worldwide's 2018 "Success Ambassadors," gave an eloquent testimony of the role of Dress for Success in her journey from personal tragedy to gaining a new career and life. "The Dress for Success Professional Women's Group allowed me to share my story with other women and learn that many of the women I met had also overcome great personal loss and hardship. I gained a sisterhood of love from women who understood and nurtured me," D'Costa declared.
