Our focus on medical incident detection and health management makes us a natural and proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society's efforts related to breast cancer -David Cautin, CEO, Connect America
BALA CYNWYD, PA, October 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Medical Alert today announced its Gold Sponsorship for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey" walk to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer.
This event, which takes place on Sunday, October 28 at Cooper River Park - Jack Curtis Stadium, is near to Medical Alert's three office locations, and attracts thousands of participants from the Greater Philadelphia/South Jersey region.
Medical Alert is owned by Connect America, the largest independent provider of Personal Emergency Response Services (PERS) in North America, and offers a suite of medical alert bracelets, mobile medical alert devices, fall detection protection, and emergency alert products to hundreds of thousands of customers and caregivers across the United States.
"The American Cancer Society is known for making dramatic improvements in cancer research, treatment, and early detection," said David Cautin, CEO, Connect America. "Our company's focus on medical incident detection and health management makes us a natural and proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society's efforts related to breast cancer."
"We are so grateful for the generous support of Medical Alert," said Donald Carlino, Director of Regional Corporate Relations for American Cancer Society.
"Without the generosity from all of our sponsors, this major fundraising initiative would not be possible."
Medical Alert is supporting the month-long breast cancer fundraising effort by sharing information about the American Cancer Society, donating a portion of October sales, and giving free awareness bracelets with each order. Medical Alert employees are also encouraged to participate in the walk to show their support.
"This is a wonderful example of what can happen in a company where kindness and compassion are fundamental to the services we provide to our own customers, and embedded in the workplace culture," added Mr. Cautin. "We are proud of our employees and grateful to our customers for choosing to support a respected organization like the American Cancer Society in this way."

About Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. Each event is a noncompetitive 3 to 5 mile walk that brings people together to make a difference for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer. The events raise money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it's most treatable.
From the opening ceremony to the post-walk entertainment, a Making Strides event is a celebration of survivors and opportunity to remember loved-ones lost. It's a day that shouldn't be missed and won't be forgotten.
