ST. LOUIS, MO, November 04, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A five star-four course chef's dinner, exquisite wine pairings, live music, dancing and more highlight the 2018 Epworth Children & Family Services Wine Dinner and Auction to be held 6pm, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Ritz-Carlton in Clayton, MO.
The 16th annual premier black tie event features a VIP reception, the gourmet dinner with specially selected wine pairings, the opportunity to bid on rare wines, plus luxury wine trips and excursions. Also highlighted is a silent auction and tax-credit paddle raise. All proceeds benefit Epworth's vital youth development services.
Co-chairs include Dr. Gregg J. Berdy and Jason Main, certified sommelier and owner of The Wine Merchant. The event will be emceed by former St. Louis Cardinals' pitcher and broadcaster Rick Horton. The Tim Cunningham Band will provide the entertainment.
The chairmen and planning committee work closely with Ritz-Carlton chefs (led by executive Chef Melissa Lee) each year to create a menu unlike anything else offered in the region. In 2017, wine dinner proceeds helped Epworth reach more than 10,000 children, youth, and families in the St. Louis area.
Main, who serves as the dinner's sommelier and resident wine expert, says, "This is a cornerstone event for St. Louis wine collectors and enthusiasts. Even better, it's a chance to profoundly affect the lives of thousands of families in need."
"Strong families make a strong community," added Dr. Berdy. "Epworth's services strengthen children, families and, by extension, the entire community."
Epworth is inviting all of St. Louis to attend this event and help raise money so that their programs can reach even more children, youth, and families. For information and to purchase tickets visit http://www.epworth.org/wine-dinner or call 314.961.5718
