"I just loved the salon and would shadow the stylists and clean up and do anything I could around the shop." It wasn't long before Lakisha was doing hair for friends and family. Eventually that passion led her to enroll at Ogle Beauty School in Hurst, TX and to earn her professional cosmetology license in May of 2018.

Like many other stylists, Lakisha chose to start her own salon rather than work as an hourly or hourly plus commission salon. "I like the freedom of being able to set my own hours and being able to be with my kids when they need me."
