McKenna Bray, Author Of Children's Book Pippa To Be At FamJam On November 17th

    MEMPHIS, TN, November 16, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- McKenna Bray, author of the critically acclaimed children's book, Pippa, (ISBN 978-1-64003-112-852396, Covenant Book, 2018) will be taking part at Jabberblabber Children's Magazine's FamJam on November 17th from 11 AM CT to 1 PM CT at the Railgarten, 2166 Central Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Bray, an accomplished singer/songwriter in addition to a children's author will be doing a signing at FamJam from 11 AM CT to 11:30 AM CT. From 11:30 AM CT to 12:00 PM CT, she will be doing a reading from Pippa including performing the enchanting lullaby from the book, and from noon to 1:00 PM CT, she will be part of a live musical performance with Misti Rae that is adult and children friendly. Bray's first foray as a children's author is the story of Pippa, a little girl with a guitar in her hand and song in her heart that brings smiles to everyone she encounters on her journey to town. The book has a captivating lullaby that accompanies it, and is a key component of the story. The book has earned strong praise from reviewers and family and parenting organizations.

Bray was inspired to write Pippa after reading a book of poems by Robert Browning, which includes "Six Songs from Pippa Passes". Having studied abroad in Florence where Browning lived and where she herself had decided to pursue a career in the arts, Bray felt a connection with the poem and was motivated to write Pippa. In each passage, the title character, Pippa, encounters characters who are lost, homeless, cold, and hurt. She comforts them with a song. After each scene, a new verse is added to the lullaby, so at the end of the book, there is a full song. The book is ideal for ages 2 – 7 and is available on Amazon.com and at bookstores.

McKenna Bray is a singer/songwriter based in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a degree in Business Management and International Business. After graduation, she moved back to Memphis, TN and signed with an independent record label, Madjack Records, who released her debut album "Once In A Blue Moon" June 29th of this year. She is currently a touring artist. Pippa is her first book.
