"It was a great experience working with Walter Matthau and Ingrid Bergman in my first major film role. Both Goldie and I were new to movie making and we both had great fun making this movie!"
ROCHESTER, NY, November 30, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This fun, classic movie starred Walter Matthau, Ingrid Bergman, Goldie Hawn, and Rick Lenz. Goldie Hawn won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role. The only main characters from this movie still with us are Goldie Hawn and Rick Lenz.
Rick Lenz played Igor Sullivan, Goldie's neighbor and eventual boyfriend. Lenz went on to play in movies such as "The Shootist" and television shows such as "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "Hec Ramsey" along with many other roles on stage and screen. Lenz has acted, directed, and scripted many shows from satire to romance to comedy to mystery. Lenz spent most of his life as an actor, off-Broadway, on Broadway, and in television and film. He has worked with Peter Sellers, Jackie Gleason, Maureen O'Hara, Alan Alda, Jill Clayburgh, Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall, Walter Matthau, Lindsay Wagner, and many more. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
Lenz is thrilled to have been a part of the "Cactus Flower" cast. "It was a great experience working with Walter Matthau and Ingrid Bergman in my first major film role. Both Goldie and I were new to movie making and we both had great fun making this movie!"
One fun fact, both Lenz and Hawn share a birthday!
Today, Lenz is a published author with third book recently released titled "Impersonators Anonymous."
"Impersonators Anonymous" takes place in the late seventies with a young, movie producer hopeful who discovers a 2/3 complete film starring James Dean and John Wayne. She finds two gifted celebrity impersonators, and with the aid of emerging technology, sets out to complete the movie. While filming the movie, the characters are entangled in a love triangle. Their interwoven back-stories come together in a stormy climax that reveals their hidden animosities, demons, and loves.
Lenz has written stage plays that have been produced off-Broadway and on PBS. His first book, "North of Hollywood," won a Foreword Book of the Year Award and was the first-place memoir in The Los Angeles Book Festival Awards. "The Alexandrite" won the Grand Prize in the Chanticleer Somerset Award for literary and contemporary fiction. It was also named Best Fantasy in the Reader Views Awards.
